Flower out of Test after breaking finger

Zimbabwe's batsman Grant Flower has been ruled out of playing in the one-off Test and the one-day series in New Zealand after breaking his right index finger.

Flower suffered the injury while fielding off his own bowling during the tour match against Canterbury.

He is expected to be out of action for between two and three weeks. The Test match begins on Boxing Day in Wellington.

It has not yet been decided whether Flower should return home. Zimbabwe are due in Australia for a one-day series beginning on 8 January.
