Fox Road Stand already proving to be a success story

Scores of cricket fans have jumped at the chance to be part of cricketing history by snapping up seats in Trent Bridge's new Fox Road Stand.

Foundations have only just been laid for the new 2,300-seater stand and over-ground construction is yet to start but nearly 200 seats have already been sold for the match between England and Sri Lanka on June 27.

Nottinghamshire's new £1.9million structure will be opened on the morning of the game making the floodlit NatWest Series clash the first action ever witnessed by spectators from the state-of-the-art facility.

Nottinghamshire's Sales and Marketing Manager Lisa Pursehouse said: "The new Fox Road structure will fill in the gap in the stands around this famous old ground, further improving what is already a world famous sporting arena.

"It's strange to see cricket fans reserving seats in a stand that doesn't even exist but that just demonstrates the faith they have in Trent Bridge providing another top class facility.

"And with the Fox Road Stand's design coming from the same drawing board as our internationally renowned Radcliffe Road complex, it¹s easy to see why they have such trust."

With more than five months still to go before the ribbon is cut, more than a half of the entire ground's increased capacity of 15,400 has been reserved.

Sales for this year's Trent Bridge Test - England v India - which starts on August 8th are equally encouraging with almost 6,000 seats sold on both the Friday and Saturday.
