A team of British parliamentarians arrived in Israel last night for a short, but much welcomed, cricket tour of Israel, which will include two matches, against a Chairman's X1 in Tel Aviv on Friday, and against reigning league champions Young Ashdod in Ashdod on Saturday. In addition to the on-field activities, the visitors will also participate in a Cricket 4 Peace activity in Be'er Sheva featuring young cricketers, Jewish, Bedouin and Palestinian, who are part of the ICA's flagship social development project, run in coordination with the sports department at the Peres Center for Peace, as well as visit Yad Vashem, the holocaust memorial museum in Jerusalem.
Apart from the House members, the British team includes former England test cricketer John Emburey. The Israel Chairman's X1, captained by ICA Chairman Stanley Perlman who was instrumental in organizing the tour, includes five former national team captains. Play in Friday's match starts at 9am at the Hadar Yosef Athletics Stadium.
