The ICC Executive Board teleconference to take place at 10.00 am (London time) tomorrow, Thursday 30th January 2003 will provide the opportunity for any member to raise and debate any concerns that may be held about the scheduling of any match during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003.
The ICC Executive Board has previously seen no reason to move the matches and any country seeking to have any of its game moved will be asked to provide additional information that clearly demonstrates that it is unsafe for its team to fulfill its obligations.
New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has provided a detailed discussion paper in relation to its game in Kenya that has been circulated for the Board's consideration, including a report from its security adviser who has inspected the country.
All other Boards have the same opportunity to provide any additional information on safety issues to the Board in order to demonstrate the risk to its players and officials is now unacceptable.
ICC Chief Executive, Malcolm Speed, said that the ICC was committed to providing a safe and secure tournament.
"The safety and security of players and officials is of paramount importance. Comprehensive and detailed plans are in place to provide the necessary level of security for the tournament," said Mr Speed.
"Tomorrow's meeting will allow Boards to raise any concerns about the ability of these arrangements to deal with any real or perceived security threats."
From February 2nd 2003, the decision making responsibility for safety and security issues will move from the ICC Executive Board to the ICC Event Technical Committee which is responsible for the administration of the event in South Africa.

Media Note Regarding ICC/ECB/PCA Meeting
The ICC has been made aware of comments about a meeting between the ICC, the ECB and the PCA taking place today.
The ICC Chief Executive, Malcolm Speed, spoke to Richard Bevan of the PCA on Saturday and indicated that he would be available to meet with the PCA provided the ECB were also present as the PCA represents the England players.
Mr Speed has been out of the country for the past two days and no request has been made for this meeting to take place. He remains available to meet with both organisations should they wish.
