ICC Meeting in London
01-Jan-1970
ICC Meeting in London.
The following decisions came out of the first day of the two day
ICC meeting:
1. The overs per day in Tests remain at 90, but recalculations
following breaks in play (end of innings or bad weather) will be
less generous and fines for slow rates will increase.
2. The new ball will be available in Tests after 80 overs.
3. ODIs will be standardised to 50 overs per side.
4. The inclusion of cricket in the next Commonwealth Games in
Kuala Lumpur in 1998 was sanctioned.
Also David Richards, chief executive of the ICC, hinted that Mike
Atherton could face official rebuke for his comments on the Edgbaston pitch.
