The ICC Trophy 2005 is taking place at 25 venues based around the two main tournament centres of Belfast and Dublin from 1 to 13 July.
Accreditation
International media will require tournament accreditation to cover the event. This must be arranged in advance through Jon Long at the ICC.
Irish media must contact Robin Walsh or Fergus Carroll with details of the matches they intent to cover.
Media work spaces may have to be allocated on a priority basis at key matches, including all Ireland matches. For certain high profile matches it is possible that restrictions will apply in relation to the number of media that will be permitted to access the media areas. In this instance priority will be given to media that have provided prior notification of their attendance.
Full details of the terms and conditions of media accreditation are available from natalie.ghamar@icc-cricket.com.
Broadcast protocol
Non-rights holding TV broadcasters are subject to strict restrictions about the amount of match action that they are permitted to film and broadcast. Non-rights holding radio stations are also subject to strict restrictions about the frequency of updates that they are permitted to provide from the match venues.
Full details of these restrictions are outlined in the terms and conditions of accreditation while a broadcast protocol for the event is available from jon.long@icc-cricket.com.
Facilities at venues
Media planning to attend matches should be aware that many of these venues are relatively small club grounds. There will be a designated media area at all venues but they will obviously not be equipped to the same high standards as experienced at the ICC Cricket World Cup or ICC Champions Trophy.
Media intending to file from the venues should consider the option of filing copy via a mobile phone. Power and refreshments will be supplied at all venues.
Media access opportunities
There will be an open media session with ICC Trophy 2005 players from all 12 teams from 2pm to 3.30pm on Thursday 30 June at the Europa Hotel, Belfast.
The captains of the 12 participating teams, the entire Ireland squad and selected players from other teams will be available for interview during this period.
The session will include a group photo call with the 12 captains and a group shot of the Ireland team. Individual shots of the captains will also be taken at
Teams are encouraged to make players available to the media after all training sessions and are obliged to make one player available the day before match-day.
There will also be a post-match media conference after every match which the captains of both sides and the man of the match are obliged to attend.
Media information
Full tournament information is available on the official tournament website, www.icc-trophy.com.
Jon Long from the ICC Corporate Affairs department will be in Ireland for the duration of event. Robin Walsh (north) and Fergus Carroll (south) will be responsible for media issues from an ICU perspective. In addition there will be an ICU Match Manager and ICC representative at all venues.
