The Technical Committee of the ICC U/19 Cricket World Cup has confirmed the venues for the Super League quarter-finals of the tournament.
And in an alteration to the original schedule neither India nor Sri Lanka, the two qualifiers from Group C, will play their matches at R.Premadasa Stadium.
Warren Deutrom, the ICC Cricket Events Manager and chairman of the tournament's six-man Technical Committee explained the decision.
"Originally the intention was that if India qualified for the Super League quarter-finals their match would be televised and therefore played at the R.Premadasa Stadium, the venue identified to host televised fixtures," he said.
"Subsequently it was determined no Super League quarter-final matches would be televised and that prompted the issue of the venues for the matches to be revisited by the Technical Committee.
"In the interests of fairness it was decided neither Sri Lanka nor India would play their match there as they will have played all their group matches at the venue.
"By switching them both away from R.Premadasa it allows two other potential Super League semi-finalists the chance to experience the venue ahead of those matches on 15 and 17 February."
The revised draw now looks like this:
Super League QF1 - 1A v 2D at R.Premadasa Stadium
Super League QF2 - 1C v 2B at Sinhalese Sports Club
Super League QF3 - 1D v 2A at Nondescripts Cricket Club
Super League QF4 - 1B v 2C at P.Saravanamuttu Stadium
All matches will be played on Saturday 11 February, starting at 10 o'clock and the revised draw means that Bangladesh, the winners of Group A, will face either England or Zimbabwe at the R.Premadasa Stadium.
And Sri Lanka and India will play their Super League quarter-finals at either the Sinhalese Sports Club or the P.Saravanamuttu Stadium depending on the result of the match between the two sides on Friday.
Like Bangladesh, Australia have qualified as Group winners after winning all their matches in Group B but the make-up of the other six places in the Super League quarter-finals line-up will not be known until Friday evening, following a bumper day of action.
That action includes two winner-takes-all matches, in Group A where New Zealand face defending champions Pakistan and in Group B where South Africa come up against the West Indies. Only one side from each match will progress to the Super League.
In the other two groups, the identity of the Super League quarter-finalists is known but who tops those groups and who finishes as runners-up is not.
In Group C India and Sri Lanka go head-to-head while England and Zimbabwe do likewise in Group D with the winners of each match finishing the round-robin stages as group winners and able to take some momentum into the knock-out matches.
The Super League semi-finals (on February 15 & 17) and the Super League final (February 19) will all be televised.
The six-man tournament Technical Committee is made up as follows:
Warren Deutrom (chairman), Chris Nockels (ICC representative), Bandula Warnapura (Host Tournament Director), Anura Tennekoon (Sri Lanka Cricket representative), Richard Done (ICC High Performance Manager and independent nomination) and Graeme Labrooy (also an independent nomination).
