Indian Hopefuls for upcoming International Matches

Santosh Jedhe - quite an all-round performance Nayan Mongia - he has been tried before; but with 10 catches and a century in the Irani Trophy, it may be a time for recall. V.Prasad, S.Ankola, A.Kuruvilla -- they all continue to remind the selectors how good they are, but with Kapil, Prabhakar, and Srinath, I wonder when they will get a chance in tests. Unfortunately, things don't look too good for some others desperately awaiting a recall. Examples - Hirwani and Maninder. Manjrekar and Shastri have some chance, I guess. I still rate Shastri to be a good reserve opener (ahead of Raman and Jadeja despite the latter's double century). Thanks to Prakash Panjwani on r.s.c. ====> MORE Shastri was looked down by the selectors even though he was fit. I think the main reason being, the 6-nations tournament is all 1-dayers. They conclude he is no good for 1-dayers. Manjrekar did not do well in this match. But I think he made-up for that in the Duleep trophy with a 144*. He should get that middle order place back. There are 3-places for grab in the India team (if they pick 16). They are: 1-Opener, 1-middle order and a Pacer. I think Jadega will pick the opener's postion with his 264. Manjrekar will pick the middle order. The fight is for the 1-pacer. I thought V.Prasad had the best chance, but he blew it in this match. His duleep trophy 3-64 is also not very impressive. Bhupinder Sr. seems to be getting into the race. Kuruvilla has a resonalbly o.k chance. He has 4-85 for West in I inngs + he also has a chance in the 2nd innings. He will also have a chance since West is going to play one more match in the duleep trophy because they seemed to be well placed in their match against South. Then comes Deodhar trophy, I don't how much of a chance all these bowler will have because it is all one-dayers. Thanks to Tittu Mathew on r.s.c.
