India cruise to series win

India duly batted a result out of the question on the final day of the second Test as the match in Mohali petered out into a draw. But the home side could not care one jot for that meant that they clinched a 1-0 series win to follow on from their victory

You can hardly blame India for shutting up shop when the series was at stake. The run--chases by themselves and South Africa in the last week or two would make anyone err on the side of caution.
So India win the series, and deservedly so. They produced when it mattered in Chennai and then were never going to be beaten in Mohali.
England can take away some positives from the series but they need to get their act in order soon if they are to win in West Indies and then, more importantly, be fully prepared for another assault on a fading Australia team in the Ashes in the summer.
