India edge out Pakistan for glory

India edged out Pakistan to win the ICC World Twenty20 on Monday and bring to an end a hugely successful and highly entertaining tournament. And bet365 reacted to the win by making India second favourites to win the next one-day World Cup in 2011.

Fittingly it came down to the final over to decide the outcome of the trophy and in the end India, who gained momentum from the moment they beat South Africa in their final Super Eights game, snatched victory to the delight of their huge band of travelling supporters.

India won't have too long to celebrate, however, as they host Australia in a seven-match one-day series, starting in Bangalore on Saturday. Pakistan, who can hold their heads high, are also in action on Monday in the first of a two-Test series at home to South Africa.
