India v West Indies 2006-07

Wisden's review of the 4th ODI between India and West Indies, 2006-07

At Vadodara, January 31, 2007. India won by 160 runs. Toss: West Indies.
Sachin Tendulkar's 76-ball century, a classic reminiscent of some of his gems from the past, led this rout. West Indies fell 160 short, their second-worst defeat by runs in one-day internationals behind a 209-run thrashing by South Africa at Cape Town in 2003-04. Lara's decision to field first was curious, just as it was in the first match. This time a stand of 101 between Ganguly and Dravid set up the innings before 134 came in the final 13 overs. Tendulkar, who was dropped twice near the climax, reached an electric hundred off the final ball of the innings. West Indies' reply was a non-starter. Gayle rounded off a forgettable series with his third failure, and the contest was all but finished by the 17th over. West Indies had dipped to 83 for five, not helped by Lara's run-out when Pathan dropped a return catch from Samuels but deflected it into the non-striker's stumps. Samuels and Ramdin lent a shade of respectability to the innings, but India's spinners flattened the tail to clinch a 3-1 series triumph.
Man of the Match: S. R. Tendulkar. Man of the Series: S. R. Tendulkar.
