Srinath clears doubts of quitting one day matches
India's premier paceman Javagal Srinath on Thursday in Chennai put an
end to all rumours that he had quit from the shorter version of the game.
Srinath said that he had just taken a long awaited rest. Srinath who has
been on a three month lay off from the game said that he intended to return refreshed to play both tests and onedayers in the near future.
Meanwhile, Srinath has been drafted into the TNQ Sponsorship (India) Private Ltd.'s list of celebrity managements operations. At a press conference in Chennai on Thursday, the managing director of TNQ Sponsorships, Kuruvilla Abraham announced the signing of the deal. Recalling his association with Srinath over the past six years, Abraham said that he had always wanted to represent Srinath. Srinath joins the likes of Chess grandmaster Viswanathan Anand, ace Billiards player Geet Sethi and Badminton champion Pullela Gopi who have signed a deal with TNQ sponsorship.
Former Hyderabad player Aibara's condition deteriorating
The condition of the former Hyderabad Ranji Trophy player Eddie Aibara who
has been suffering from Kidney and heart ailments since early May is
deteriorating. He has since then under gone dialysis 17 times. Quoting Dr A Gopal Kishan, a consulting nephrologist at the Mediciti Hospital in Hyderabad, Deccan Chronicle reported on Sept 26 that the octogenarian was readmitted into the hospital ten days ago and was stated to be in coma for a couple of days.
Aibara regained conciousness only on Tuesday. Dr Kishan said that the
dialysis was stopped in view of his condition. He said that the doctors resorted to conservative treatment since his heart was weak and would not withstand the aggressive treatment. Dr Kishan added that it was Aibara'a sheer will power which has been helping him to survive.
Three changes in Tamil Nadu under-19 squad for Goa match
Tamil Nadu have made three changes to the Under-19 team for the forthcoming
Cooch-Behar Trophy Tournament match against Goa, slated to be played from
October 2-4 in Goa. G Vigneesh, Vijay Sai Suri and Hufesa M Patel have been
included in the team in the place of R Sainath, V Kudawla and E Suresh.
