BEFORE HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE MALIK MUHAMMAD QAYYUM COMMISSION OF INQUIRY. LAHORE HIGH COURT, LAHORE
Whereas the Government of Pakistan in pursuance of the powers conferred by Section 3 of Pakistan Commission of Inquiry Act, 1956 (VI of 1956) and sub-section (1) of Section 5 thereof has appointed Hon'ble Mr. Justice Malik Muhammad Qayyum. Judge Lahore Court, Lahore as one man Commission of Inquiry to inquire into the notorious allegation s of betting and match fixing against certain Members of the Pakistan Cricket Team.
2. The terms of Commission of Inquiry are as follows:-
a) To proble into the allegation regarding betting and match fixing against the members of the Pakistan Cricket Team.
b) To determine and identify the persons including members of the team responsible for betting and match fixing.
c) To recommend such actions as may be appropriate under the circumstances.
d) To suggest measures to avoid any future incidence.
3. The general public is informed that Commission is holding the inquiry at Lahore in the premises of Lahore High Court. Those interested in appearing as witness before the Commission may get their names registered by 30.9.98 Statements of only those persons may be recorded during the inquiry who have their names registered by that date
