Israel mourns Percy Sonn

I had the honour of knowing Percy Sonn, President of the ICC, for the past three years ever since he became Vice President and subsequently President of the ICC.

There was never a dull moment with Percy around. His love for life was so apparent to all around him to see. I found him to be a super intelligent man with a very analytical mind. He brought his own style to the Executive Board meetings. He never let the board meetings get bogged down and always came up with a solution to any pressing problem.

Being ICC President was very special to Percy. It was the greatest honour that could be bestowed upon a man who had come from humble beginnings yet had fought adversity with great ferocity to reach the top.

It was only three weeks ago that I had dinner with Percy and Sandra in Barbados. Today Percy is no longer with us. I personally will miss him very much.
