The Israel senior team go into today's match against Australia in Ashdod knowing that victory will give them a place in Wednesday's final, following their second straight win of the tournament, over Great Britain on Friday. The match was expected to be a close encounter and did not disappoint, going down to the closing overs with Israel emerging victorious by just 13 runs. Batting first, the Israel innings was once again built around Isaac Massil who top scored with 57 in a total of 195. Jeremy Mordrick (3 for 24) and Gavin Diamond (3 for 36) both bowled well for a GB side showing plenty of enthusiasm in the field.

In reply, Great Britain started slowly, and were in early trouble at 36 for 3. However a partnership of 55 between Darren Gerrard and Daniel Becker brought them back into the match, until Massil returned into the attack to remove Becker for 33, and Gerrard (38) was out shortly afterwards. Both Mordrick (19) and Davis (13) were run out as Great Britain became desperate for runs, and the team was eventually all out for 182 with 7 balls of the innings remaining.
In other results on Friday, India (142) lost to Australia by 8 wickets. In the junior tournament, South Africa remain undefeated with a win over Australia, and Safania Naguakar (46*) starred in Israel's 6-wicket in over Great Britain, who managed just 108 batting first.
