Kenya hosts inaugural Women's Regional qualifying tournament

Cricket Kenya, has worked feverishly to prepare for the inaugural Women's Regional World Cup Qualifier, to be played from 8th -10th December 2006. Rain over the last week had almost dashed the chances of having a competition for the ladies, who will play their first fixture today, in Nairobi.

Competing teams are Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe. The competition will be played in a round robin format that will see the winner progress to the World Cup Qualifier in Pakistan, alongside South Africa.

Betty Timmer and Tim Khumalo are both in attendance at what will most certainly be a memorable event.
