Cricket Kenya, has worked feverishly to prepare for the inaugural Women's Regional World Cup Qualifier, to be played from 8th -10th December 2006. Rain over the last week had almost dashed the chances of having a competition for the ladies, who will play their first fixture today, in Nairobi.
Competing teams are Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe. The competition will be played in a round robin format that will see the winner progress to the World Cup Qualifier in Pakistan, alongside South Africa.
