Manoj Prabhakar arrested in chit fund scam

Former cricketer Manoj Prabhakar was today arrested by the Uttaranchal Police from his office in Delhi in connection with a cheating case registered against him in Haldwani district, police said.

"We have arrested Manoj Prabhakar from his office in Malviya Nagar", Assistant Director General of Police (ADGP) Anil Raturi told PTI in Dehra Dun today. He is being brought to the state on a transit warrant.

Prabhakar has been arrested on charges of forgery and other sections of the IPC in connection with Apace Chit Fund case, Raturi said. Earlier, the Uttaranchal High Court had stayed his arrest in one case while the arrest has been executed in the second case of the chit fund scam following issuance of non-bailable warrants by a Haldwani court last month.
