Minister initiates fantastic partnership

On an initiative taken by the Hon. Minister of Sport and Tourism Mr. Lakshman Kiriella, the BCCSL in association with our new partner WSG Nimbus Pte Ltd. is delighted to announce that we will dedicate 2 minutes of TV airtime per match day towards the promotion of tourism in Sri Lanka.

This fantastic opportunity is guaranteed by its inclusion in the contractual agreement between the BCCSL and WSG Nimbus.

The BCCSL considers it a privilege to accede to this request made by the Hon. Minister in recognition of the enormous appeal of cricket worldwide.

Based on the 174 days of live coverage of the 14 inbound Tours in the next three years, (2001 - 2003) the BCCSL has agreed to 348 minutes of airtime for the promotion of our Island Nation.

This in turn guarantees an estimated viewership of over 1 billion worldwide and re-enforces Sri Lanka's cricketing reputation.

The Ministry of Sport and Tourism will provide the BCCSL with the necessary footage, which will be aired on our international broadcasts.
