Attorney Jake Moloi has been appointed to the three-person disciplinary
committee which is to be convened following the interim report of the King
Commission of Inquiry.
Moloi, who is based in Pretoria, is the co-chairperson of the Law Society
of South Africa (LSSA) and the President of the Black Lawyers Association.
He has practised law for 22 years - 17 years in private practice and five years
as the Chief State Attorney for South Africa. In this position, from which
he resigned in May 2000, Mr Moloi handled civil matters on behalf of the
State, including contracts and disciplinary hearings.
As announced yesterday, the other two members of the panel are Judge Mervyn
King and Michael Kuper SC.
