Muralitharan to be escorted in motorcade from airport

The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports together Sri Lanka Cricket have made arrangements to welcome Muttiah Muralitharan on his return from Zimbabwe after establishing the world record for the highest number of test wickets.

The Sri Lanka Team is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on 20th of May 2004 on flight E.K 554 at 4.10 p.m. Murali would be welcomed by the Hon. Jeewan Kumaratunge Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and officials of the Ministry and Sri Lanka Cricket at the VIP lounge in the Bandaranayake International Airport. There after Murali will be escorted in a motorcade to Sri Lanka Cricket headquarters. On arrival at Maitland Place the Western Province Cricket Association has arranged junior cricketers to honour Murali through a arch of bats while the police band will be in attendance. Murali will be accompanied by his team mates, family members, officials of the Ministry of Sports and Sri Lanka Cricket and media into Sri Lanka Cricket headquarters.

Sri Lanka Cricket is pleased to invite all Media personnel's to join at Sri Lanka Cricket headquarters on 20th May 2004 at 5.30 pm to welcome Muttiah Muralitharan on his return from Zimbabwe after establishing the world record for the highest number of test wickets.
