The Annual General Meeting and 2007 Awards Cermony of the ICA was held in Tel Aviv last night. The new committe was also elected by all the clubs, with Stanley Perlman re-elected unopposed as Chairman. The committee includes a couple of new faces elected to the Executive for the first time. One of their primary goals will be the organization of a major event for Israeli cricket to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the State of Israel, preliminary details of which were revealed by Perlman in his Chairman's report.
The awards ceremony saw Lions Lod once again collect the lions share of silverware. They completed the league and Cup double, and it was no surprise that their players were also amongst the outstanding achievers of the season. David Massil was second on the batting averages, scoring 209 runs at an average of 52.25, and Anim Solomon took the bowling honors, with 26 wickets at 8.73. Ra'anana's David Silver once again enjoyed an excellent season, finishing top of the batting averages with 419 runs at 59.80. Raymond Talkar from Ramle was second on the bowling list, with 20 wickets at 12.05.
Neve Yonatan also enjoyed an excellent season, finishing undefeated in taking the Division 2 trophy. with their players also taking the bulk of the individual awards in Division 2. Shimshon Razpurker (388 runs at 64.66), Aby Daniels (23 wickets at 8.39) and Matan Razpurker (11 wickets at 11.18) received awards, with Anthony Harris completing a fine debut season for Ra'anana, scoring 350 runs at an average of 50 to earn a batting prize.
Guest of honor Maoz Tal, deputy Chairman of Ayelet, presented the awards before giving a most interesting speech on the state of non-olympic sports in Israel.
Perlman delivered his Chariman's address, the 2007 financial statements were approved, a couple of questions were asked and answered, and then the elections held. The incoming committee consists of:
