A new scorers' box has been installed in the gap between the Mound and Tavern stands at Lord's, as part of the latest ground improvement project.
The new box will be fully operational in time for next month's first Test between England and New Zealand, and will provide scorers with much better facilities than the old box in the Warner Stand, as well as an improved elevated view of the pitch. In addition, 45 more seats will be installed, as well as an extra electronic scoreboard.
It is just the latest phase in an ongoing makeover at Lord's, which included a complete relaying of the outfield in the off-season of 2002-03, and the refurbishment of the Lord's Tavern. The next step will be a multi-million pound restoration project in the Pavilion, which is intended to be restored to pristine condition for the 2005 visits of Australia and Bangladesh.
