Former TV-AM presenter Nick Owen has been appointed as the next president of Derbyshire, succeeding Trevor Bowring in March next year.
Owen, who currently works for the BBC in the Midlands, is a vice-president and honorary life member of the county.
"I am thrilled and very honoured," he said. "When I first started following Derbyshire in the days of Gladwin, Jackson and Morgan, I never dreamed that one day I would be asked to become president.
"My mother, Buxton born and bred, and other relatives who still live in Derbyshire are extremely proud. I very much look forward to becoming even more involved with the club."
