Nugegoda Sports and Welfare Club filed action in a Colombo District Court
yesterday seeking an interim injunction and enjoining order that prevents
the recently appointed Interim Committee from using the funds or assets of
the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka (BCCSL).
Nugegoda SWC told the court that after the dissolution of the BCCSL the
Minister appointed an Interim Committee to run the affairs of cricket, but
argued that the Interim Committee has no right to use the movable and
immovable assets and money of the former cricket board.
They also asked the court to issue an order canceling all the transactions
that have already taken place.
The District Court ordered a filing of answers on June 25.
