Despite Pakistan's poor performance in the NatWest Series final, their overall performance on the recent tour of England may be claimed satisfactory. The team won 8 out of 13 matches played and one match was abandoned due to rain. These results are comparable with Pakistan's performance on previous tours of 1974, 1987, 1992 and 1996. In fact on the 1974 tour Pakistan did not concede any match and achieved resounding success on the tours 1992 and 1996 tours, winning 11 out of 14 and 16 out of 27 matches played.
