PENTASOFT named as Super Challenge 2000 Sponsor

PENTASOFT has been confirmed as the major sponsor for Super Challenge 2000, the one-day international series between Australia and South Africa at Colonial Stadium in August, it was announced today.

The deal, which has been agreed for a substantial six-figure sum, will give the global information technology company on-ground signage, branding on the Australian team's playing and training apparel and top-level corporate entertainment in the rooms at Colonial Stadium.

Announcing the agreement, Australian Cricket Board Chief Executive Officer Malcolm Speed said: "We are absolutely delighted that PENTASOFT has agreed to sponsor Super Challenge 2000.

"The three matches are of world-wide significance as they are the first one-day internationals to be played in a covered stadium.

"And thanks to our television and radio agreements, the matches will be followed by more than 97 million cricket fans all over the world.

"As such, it is entirely appropriate that a global company such as PENTASOFT is sponsoring this event as it reflects the world-wide appeal of both cricket and the Australian team."

PENTASOFT Chairman Mr V Chandrasekaran said: "We are extremely excited about this agreement.

"With two of the leading sides in one-day international cricket involved there is plenty of potential for action, and the fact that the matches will be played indoors is an added thrill.

"The Australian cricket team has a global profile thanks to its success and as we are a global company this association is a very natural one."

The three matches in Super Challenge 2000 will be played on August 16, 18 and 20. The first two matches are day-night fixtures, with the final match in the series a day game.
