Kevin Pietersen is one of those players who perform best on the big stage and it's no surprise the Hampshire man is favourite to be top England runscorer in the second one-day international against Pakistan at Lord's on Saturday.
The only surprise is that he is not the outright favourite as he shares favouritism with Marcus Trescothick, with both of them 10/3 with bet365.
Having failed in his three one-dayers at Lord's to date, it is about time that Pietersen stepped up and enjoyed himself at cricket's HQ. He has the talent and England need him to perform, so the 10/3 (4.33) is not a bad price.
Behind the leading two, captain Andrew Strauss is 9/2 (5.50), the same price as Ian Bell, while Alastair Cook is 11/2 (6.50) and Paul Collingwood and Ed Joyce are both 6/1 (7.00) chances.
For Pakistan, bet365 can't split three of them - captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf, with the trio on offer at 4/1 (5.00).
Shoaib Malik is 9/2 (5.50) while Mohammad Hafeez is 5/1 (6.00), Imran Farhat is 11/2 (6.50) and Shahid Afridi is a 9/1 (10.00) chance.
