QEA Trophy Fifth Round: Day-1 report

Asim Kamal stroked an unbeaten century as Karachi Whites finished the opening day of the four-day QEA Trophy fifth and last round match against Dadu at a formidable 310 for four at the Steel Town ground in Karachi on Tuesday.
Asim was batting on 164 in an innings that contains 21 boundaries from 279 balls he has faced in his 321 minutes of batting. Together with Asif Zakir (79), Asim put on 181 runs for the second wicket.

Faisalabad's Asif Hussain was unconquered on 135 in the home team's 247 for six against Service Industries in their backyard. Asif has hit 18 boundaries in his 201-ball innings. He has occupied the crease for 201 minutes. At stumps Asif, with Farooq Iqbal on 59 had put on 136 for the unfinished seventh wicket.

Pakistan's one-day specialist Misbah-ul-Haq missed a well deserved century when he was dismissed for 98 against Peshawar as KRL finished at 225 for seven at the Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar.

Pakistan fast bowler Fazl-e-Akbar bagged five wickets for 41 runs to help PIA dismiss Rawalpindi for 139. The departmental team was 141 for two at stumps.
