Ra'anana bounced back from their heavy defeat to Lions Lod last week, to inflict Tel Aviv with their second straight loss of the season. In a very one-sided contest, Ra'anana, having scored 301 for 9 in their 45 overs, bowled out Tel Aviv for 138, winning by 163 runs.
Having been asked to bat by Tel Aviv in hot and humid conditions, Ra'anana veterans David Silver and Adrian Vard added 103 for the third wicket to build the base for a big total. The two came together with the score on 32, with Gal Matz (16) and Rafi Zauer (9) having been dismissed, both caught behind by Steve Leigh. With the score on 135, Silver, having gone to his half century with a straight boundary the previous ball, was out to a sensational, left handed catch on the long run boundary by Stanley Perlman.

Vard was dismissed shortly afterwards, playing a tired shot to a full toss from Perlman and top edging to Leigh having scored a good 48. When Danny Hotz (20) and Steven Shein (1) were dismissed in quick succession by left arm seamer Willie Van Der Walt, Ra'anana had been reduced to 173 for 6. Any hopes Tel Aviv may have had of finishing the innings off quickly were soon gone, as Gedaliya Auerbach scored an aggressive 54, including a 6 and six 4's. His departure brought in Mendel Muedalie, who signalled his intentions by hitting his very first ball over the mid wicket boundary for 6. Des Moss was out for 30 with the score on 276, but Muedalie just kept on playing his shots, finishing not out on 40 including four 6's. Van Der Walt (3 for 39), Perlman (1 for 39) and Paul Thomas (1 for 45) were the only bowlers to return respectable figures as Ra'anana scored 114 runs off the last 10 overs of the innings.

If Tel Aviv's bowling and fielding was poor, their batting wasn't much better. Only Leigh, who had earlier completed 6 dismissals behind the stumps, put together a decent innings, playing some delightful shots before being rather comically run out for 38. Having played the ball into the off side, Leigh began to stroll through for what should have been an easy single, only to be run out by Hotz who swooped in from point before throwing down the stumps at the bowlers end, leaving Leigh short of his ground. Auerbach completed an excellent all round performance by picking up 3 wickets for 34 runs, as Tel Aviv were all out for 138.
In the other Premier League fixture of the weekend, Be'er Sheva held on for a valuable win away against Ashdod. In a low scoring contest, Ashdod scored 149, with Menashe Wadhukar top scoring with 44. Be'er Sheva reached their target with 3 wickets in hand, thanks mainly to Samson Ashtamkar who finished not out on 49.
In Division 1, Neve Yonatan bowled out Lions Be'er Sheva for just 124 in Be'er Sheva, with Shimshon Raspurker taking 3 for 16. Although Lions Be'er Sheva picked up a couple of early wickets, Raspurker hit 44 not out to ensure Neve Yonatan reached their target without too much alarm, winning by 4 wickets.
