Rohit gives Chappell a boost

Sambit Bal still leads from David Lloyd, but it's a wafer-thin margin from there to No. 3

A failed trump notwithstanding, Sambit Bal still starts day six of the IPL on top of the Star Wars table.
Just 49 points from the Bangalore Royal Challengers versus Deccan Chargers game on Wednesday, but that was enough for Sambit to maintain his lead over David Lloyd, who is in second position with 1058 points.
The big mover of the day, however, was Ian Chappell, who racked up 177 points with some smart picks - 60 from Herschelle Gibbs who was his trump, and 107 from Rohit Sharma. But Ian could well be ruing not having picked Sharma as his trump, a move that could have catapulted him to No. 1.
Fortune certainly seems to be favouring Sambit, which he acknowledges. "I am lucky to keep my lead, to be honest. It's more of a case of none of the others doing that well."
But the big shock of the day was Jesse Ryder, who was Sambit as well as Sanjay Manjrekar's trump. Just 10 points from him. Could this mean the axing of Ryder from Star Wars line-ups? Sambit certainly seems to think so.
"Jesse Ryder is not turning out so good for my health. He has now given me negative points for his batting. But unlike Vijay Mallya I have the option of dropping him mid-season. That's the best thing about being the owner of a Fantasy team."
With two big games slated for today, featuring pre-tournament favourites Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils, expect some shake-ups, not just in Durban, where the teams face off, but in the Star Wars points table as well tomorrow.
