Islamabad, Aug 2: Former Test captain Salim Malik who was banned by Pakistan Cricket Board over match-fixing and betting charges has submitted his reply to the board on Wednesday afternoon.
Talking to Dawn, Director Cricket Operations PCB, Yawar Saeed said that the lengthy reply reached the board office around 2.15 pm. The document will be submitted to the chairman PCB, Lt. Gen. Tauqir Zia and the PCB's one-man commission of Naveed Rasool will scrutinise it legally.
The board had given Malik till Friday to file a response whether or not he intends to challenge the Justice Malik Mohammad Qayyum's recommendation of life ban and Rs 1 million cash penalty.
Meanwhile, it was stated that PCB has requested the News of the World for replacements of the audio transcripts of the alleged Salim Malik's interview as these were said to be of bad quality. These will also be submitted to the PCB one-man commission of Naveed Rasool for further action, it was stated.
