Vidarbha U-14 gained three points over Madhya Pradesh U-14 in their
drawn Central Zone league match at the VCA Ground, Nagpur today.
Madhya Pradesh won the toss and batted first. They were all out for
143 in 83.5 overs in their first innings with J Saxena being the only
batsman to offer some resistance, making an unbeaten 69. Rahul Jangde
was the pick of the Vidarbha bolwers having claimed 3 wickets for 31
runs. The first day's play ended with Vidarbha at 11 for no loss.
Vidarbha on the second day were helped by a 68 from Sachin Pimprikar
and 31 from Jangde on their way in getting a lead thereby ending the
day at 217 for 8 in 111 overs. Saxena was the hero again for MP as he
took five wickets for 51 runs.
The third day didn't go well for Vidarbha as they lost the remaining
two wickets to J Saxena for another 13 runs only and finished their
first innings at 230 in 119.1 overs. J Saxena's final figures were 7
for 61. MP started their 2nd innings with an 87 run deficit, ending
the match at 141 for 7 in 84 overs with a top score of 49 by M Hasan.
For Vidarbha H Joshi took 3 wickets without conceeding a run in his 3
overs.
