Scots in charge after record partnership

In a day that started very grey and damp, Scotland's hopes brightened up with the weather

Scotland 274 for 4 (Watson 166*, C Smith 70) lead Namibia 168 by 106 runs
In a day that started very grey & damp, Scotland's hopes brightened up with the weather.
Persistent light rain and poor light delayed a start being made until 4pm, with 48.5 overs being scheduled, including the part over from the previous evening. Colin Smith joined Ryan Watson, who had already scored 62 at the close of day one.
They compiled a Scottish record of 176 for the 4th wicket, beating the 167 by professionals Rahul Dravid & Jon Kent in a Tote Sport League game 3 years ago. They looked in complete control as Namibia tried a variety of bowlers to no avail. They batted together for 176 minutes before Kotze produced a delivery which Smith edged to Ludik. Neil McCallum came out to bat and the two batsmen them played out time to leave Scotland 274-4 after 70 overs.
A vintage day for Scotland who will be looking to build on their first innings superiority tomorrow with better weather forecast.
