Somerset Under 19's win through to semi finals

Somerset Under-19s are through to the semi-finals of the ECB 38 County two-day competition, after a resounding victory over Shropshire at Shifnal today.

Batting first yesterday, Somerset amassed 494 for 5 in their allotted 100 overs, with Luke Stokes making 121 and Richard Timms 110.

Today Somerset bowled Shropshire out for 270 in 65 overs to earn a semi-final match against either Essex or Cambridgeshire at Uxbridge starting on Tuesday next week.

Team coach Jeff Davies said: "This was a very fine all round performance by the Somerset lads."
