Sri Lanka moved into fourth place in the ICC rankings following their series win over India, swapping places with England who slip to fifth after their loss to South Africa.
India remain in third, but are now only one point ahead of Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka are not due to play another Test until they visit England next May but, if Australia beat India convincingly when they visit there later this year, Sri Lanka could still move into third. It is so close at the top that if India win that series convincingly they can leapfrog South Africa into second place.
