Tamil Union in stunning win over Bloomfield
Sri Lanka's one-day all-rounder Upul Chandana led Tamil Union to a
stunning two wickets victory over last season's runner-up Bloomfield
on the final day of their 3-day Premier championship match played at
the Sara Stadium yesterday.
Having conceded a narrow first innings lead of 11 runs to Bloomfield,
Tamil Union came back strongly to overhaul the target of 228 runs for
victory largely through the all-round performance of Chandana (7 for
80 and 52 with 5 fours) and Indika Galagoda (52 n.o. with 4 fours).

CCC on first innings
Former Sri Lanka cricketer Chandika Hathurusingha played a captain's
knock of 101 (13 fours, 1 six, 218 minutes) and shared a fourth
wicket stand of 173 with Rasika Priyadarshana (70 in 203 minutes, 1
six, 7 fours) to prevent Moors SC from total humiliation in their
Premier championship match against CCC at Braybrooke Place yesterday.
CCC won the contest on the first innings.

The Elephant Lemonade Trophy inter-school cricket match between
Rahula College, Matara and Mahanama MV, Colombo ended in a draw at
Matara yesterday.
The highlight of the match was the fine bowling performance of
Mahanama's left arm leg spinner P. Sathyapala who captured 6 wickets
for 81 in the Rahula second innings to have a match bag of 13 wickets
for 114 having taken 7 for 33 in the first innings. P. Sampath scored
121 for Rahula inclusive of 12 boundaries.
