Virat Kohli's 136 was his 12th hundred in successful chases in ODIs. The only batsman to score more centuries in successful chases is Sachin Tendulkar, who had 14 such centuries. This was Kohli's 19th ODI hundred, of which 13 have come while chasing. Again, only Tendulkar's 17 tons in chases are more than Kohli's.

Kohli's 19th ODI century brought him level with Brian Lara on the list of batsmen with most ODI centuries. Only seven batsmen have scored more centuries than him in ODIs. Kohli, who was playing his 124th ODI innings, has taken 55 innings fewer than Chris Gayle, the previous batsman fastest to 19 ODI centuries.

This was Kohli's fifth ODI hundred in Bangladesh and his third against them. Kohli has scored 506 runs at 126.50 from six innings against the hosts. In Bangladesh, Kohli has scored 868 runs at 124.00 in ten ODIs, including five hundreds and three fifties.

Kohli's five hundreds are the most by a batsman in ODIs in Bangladesh - currently, among the top ODI playing countries, Bangladesh are the only hosts where the record for hitting the most ODI centuries belongs to an overseas batsman.

Mushfiqur Rahim's 117 is the highest score by a Bangladesh captain in ODIs. Mushfiqur has become only the third Bangladesh captain after Mohammad Ashraful and Shakib Al Hasan to hit an ODI century. Shakib has three centuries as captain in ODIs.

This was also Mushfiqur's highest score and his second century in ODIs. This is only the second hundred by a Bangladesh batsman against India in ODIs. Alok Kapali is the only other batsman to hit a hundred against India. His century also came in the Asia Cup, in Karachi in 2008.

Both captains hit centuries in this match - only the second such instance ever in ODIs. The first instance of both captains hitting hundreds in an ODI also came fairly recently - between Ireland and England in Dublin last year, when William Porterfield and Eoin Morgan hit centuries.

The 213-run partnership between Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane was India's fourth-highest in ODIs for the third wicket and their highest for that wicket against Bangladesh. This was also the fourth-highest partnership against Bangladesh for any wicket. Andrew Strauss and Jonathan Trott added 250 runs for the second wicket against them at Edgbaston in 2010, which is the highest partnership against Bangladesh for any wicket.

The 133-run partnership between Anamul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim was Bangladesh's highest against India for any wicket, beating the 113-run partnership between Jahurul Islam and Tamim Iqbal for the second wicket , also in the Asia Cup, in Dhaka. This was also Bangladesh's 50th century partnership in ODIs.

Anamul Haque's 77 was his second fifty-plus score in ODIs and only the ninth fifty by a Bangladesh opener against India. Haque has now scored 382 runs at 31.83, with his last four ODI innings fetching him 271 runs at 67.75.

Mohammed Shami's bowling figures of 4 for 50 in this match are his best in ODIs and the second time he has taken four wickets in a match. His other four-wicket haul came recently, against New Zealand in Napier last month.

Kohli has now scored 1423 runs at 129.36 from 19 innings in successful chases since the beginning of 2012, more than 500 runs clear of Tillakaratne Dilshan, who is the next batsman in the list.

This was only the 12th instance of an India captain hitting a century in a successful chase in ODIs. The last such instance was also by Kohli, when he hit 115 against Zimbabwe in Harare last year. Sourav Ganguly's four hundreds are the most by an India captain in successful chases.

This was Kohli's 18th Man-of-the-Match award in ODIs. He has drawn level with Mohammad Azharuddin and MS Dhoni, who also have 18 such awards in ODIs. Kohli has won 11 of these awards in ODIs since 2012 - the most by any player in that period and five more than Dilshan and Thisara Perera, who are the next players on this list.

Varun Aaron had a forgettable outing in this match: he went for 9.44 runs an over off the 7.5 overs that he bowled and was taken out of the attack for bowling two beamers in the match. The 74 runs that he conceded in this innings are the second-highest conceded by a bowler in an ODI against Bangladesh. UAE's Khurram Khan gave away 78 runs from his ten overs in the 2008 Asia Cup, the most conceded by a bowler against the team.

This win ended India's eight-match consecutive winless sequence for ODIs outside India. Their last win in an overseas ODI came in Bulawayo last year against Zimbabwe.
