The Tel Aviv Sri Lankans began their participation in the domestic league with a win over Lions Be'er Sheva in a high scoring game, whilst their Jerusalem counterparts were beaten by Ra'anana 2. Israel U19 bounced back from defeats in their opening two games with a win over Dimona C. Young Ashdod and Ramla played to a draw.
Friday's Division 2 game between Jerusalem Sri Lanka and Ra'anana 2 at Hadar Yosef and Saturday's game between Lions Be'er Sheva and Tel Aviv Sri Lanka in Be'er Sheva may have both involved Sri Lankan teams, but thats where the similarities ended. More runs were scored in just one innings in Be'er Sheva than in the entire game at Hadar Yosef, as the uneven bounce made batting difficult. Ra'anana 2 would have been disapointed with their 106 batting first, but skipper Anthony Harris then took 6/34 as Jerusalem SL were bundled out for just 78. Nir Dikorkar top scored with 49 as Lions Be'er Sheva reached 246 against Tel Aviv SL, who then needed just 30 overs to smash off the runs, with Shadun scoring 64 and Sujeeth 56* to add to his 4/76 with the ball.
In Division 1 action played Saturday, Young Ashdod's bowlers failed to capitalise on a good performance by their batsmen, as Ramla decided a target of 294 was beyond them and settled for a draw, finishing on 168/4. Earlier Danny Malyankar scored 75 and Raymond Aston as Young Ashdod declared on 293/7.
Dimona C slumped to their third defeat in three games, this time at the hands of Israel U19, who scored their first win. Avishai Satamkar (43) and Gil Nojman (38) set the foundation for the youngsters to win by 5 wickets, after Dimona posted 212 with Shai Divekar scoring 57.
