WACA signs 16 Western Warriors

The WACA today contracted 16 players to the 2000-2001 Western Warriors squad. The players are;

They join ACB contracted players Adam Gilchrist, Michael Hussey, Simon Katich, Justin Langer and Damien Martyn in the WA squad.

The only new face in the squad is 16-year-old Willetton all-rounder Shaun Marsh. Marsh, who has represented WA and Australia at an under-19s level, is a left handed batsman who also bowls left arm medium and left arm orthodox.

Another four players will be added to the WA squad by the end of September to take the number of WACA contracted players to 20 for season 2000-2001.

A total retainer pool of $430,000 was available for each state, with a minimum retainer of $12,500 per player.

In addition, players can earn match payments of $3,050 for a Pura Milk Cup clash and $850 for a Mercantile Mutual Cup match.
