WCL matches to be streamed online

Four matches in the ICC’s World Cricket League are to be streamed live over the internet after an agreement was reached with QuipuTV, the same company that broadcast online coverage of the ICC World Twenty20 qualifiers in March.

The deal covers two one-day internationals between Scotland and Canada, on July 9 and 11, as well as back-to-back ODIs between Netherlands and UAE (July 21 and 23).

QuipuTV’s coverage will be scaled down but managing director, Jack McGill, said the broadcaster wanted “to demonstrate to fans of Associate and Affiliate cricket and to the ICC that we are committed to this level of the sport and want to assist with its continued development.”

Cricket Scotland CEO, Roddy Smith, said: "The livestreaming of Associate and Affiliate matches in the last 18 months has been warmly received by fans and players, and enabled thousands to watch matches they otherwise could not attend, so it's fantastic that QuipuTV are once again committed to supporting these internationals."

The WCL Championship also features Ireland, Afghanistan, Namibia and Kenya. Ireland currently lead the standings, one point ahead of UAE.
