West Indies `A` to tour Lanka
Five cricketers who have represented West Indies at Test and
one-day internationals form the 15-man West Indies `A` squad
named for the tour of Sri Lanka in October/November this year.
Thirty-three-year-old Guyana all-rounder Roger Harper who has
represented West Indies in both Test and one-day internationals
leads the side which also includes Test fast bowlers Otis Gibson
and Cameron Cuffy and Test opener Stuart Williams.
Another opener Philo Wallace, who has represented West Indies in
one-day internationals is also a member of a very strong West Indies `A` team who are due to arrive in Sri Lanka on either October 26 or 27 for a series of three unofficial 4-day tests and
as many one-day internationals. They will also play a three-day
fixture.
The West Indies `A` team for Sri Lanka: Roger Harper (Guyana),
captain, Cameron Cuffy (Windward Islands), Shane Ford (Jamaica),
Otis Gibson (Barbados), Ridley Jacobs (Leeward Islands), David
Joseph (Leeward Islands), Rawl Lewis (Windward Islands), Mahendra
Nagamootoo (Guyana), Tony Powell (Jamaica), Floyd Reifer (Barbados), A. Samaroo, Colin Stuart (Guyana), Philo Wallace (Barbados), Laurie Williams (Jamaica), Stuart Williams (Leeward Islands)
