England go into their five-match one-day series with West Indies this week smarting from their defeat in the Test series. The bookies can't split the two sides for series honours, but I have a feeling home advantage could swing it in the West Indies' favour.
Let's face it, England are not a good one-day side. They are slightly better than they were but they still don't quite get that it's moved on from the days when 250 was a good score in 50 overs.
West Indies, on the other hand, have been improving in one-day cricket for a few years now and the likes of Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo and Shivnarine Chanderpaul are well capable of upping the tempo in the shorter format.
Bet365 make both sides 5/6 and on recent form, and the fact that England probably just want to come home, I'd have to go for West Indies.
In the past 12 months, England have won just five of their 16 one-day internationals - a pathetic record. West Indies' record is worse in fact - six wins from 19. At home, though, they are generally better, as you would expect, and I think they can edge this series.
In the Caribbean at this time of year, the weather always plays a factor so the correct score markets are always tougher to predict. Bet365 make both sides 2/1 to win it 3-2 - that's how little they think there is to choose between the two sides - while it's 9/2 that either of them win 4/1, and 16/1 on the whitewash, whichever way you go.
As for the first match, which is due to be played in Guyana on Friday, again bet365 go 5/6 on both teams, while the thing to look out for here could be the performance of Shivnarine Chanderpaul.
The left-hander is from Guyana so will get huge support and he tends to play well in front of his true home crowd, so the 7/2 on him to be West Indies' top runscorer could be worth taking.
I'll have a full preview of the first match soon, so please keep checking back here for updates.
