At Georgetown, Guyana, March 20. Australia won by six wickets. Toss: West Indies. Haynes and Simmons put on 85 in seventeen overs, but while Richardson built on this foundation with 94 off 88 balls (one six, eleven fours), he could find no-one to say with him after Haynes was lbw, sweeping, in the 23rd over. West Indies' last six wickets fell for 34 in the last nine overs from McDermott and Hughes. Marsh and Border shared a sizeable partnership for Australia, 124 in 24 overs with Border's 60 coming from 61 balls (two sixes, five fours), and Marsh remained to the end. His unbeaten 106, his second successive one-day international century, was made from 158 balls and included eight fours. The match ended with Patterson delivering a no-ball and 4 wides, bringing the total number in the Australian innings to 11 wides and 24 no-balls.
