The Western Warriors Sheffield Shield defence begins at the WACA Ground this
Friday, October 15, 1999 when they play their first match of season 1999-2000
against the Victorian Bushrangers.
The back-to-back Sheffield Shield champions have named Brendon Julian captain in
the absence of regular skipper Tom Moody and vice-captain Adam Gilchrist, who
will both be on their way to Zimbabwe for one-day internationals.
Twenty-year-old left handed batsman Marcus North, from Bayswater-Morley, has
been named to make his first-class debut for WA, along with Victorian
fast-bowling recruit Brad Williams.
