Cameron White, the captain of Victoria, has been cleared of his dissent charge, following a review of an incident that occurred during the Bushrangers' seven-wicket loss to South Australia at the Junction Oval in Melbourne.
White was reported by Geoff Morrow, the umpire, as a result of the incident, which followed his dismissal in Victoria's second innings when he was lbw to Paul Rofe, the South Australian fast bowler. Ron Beazley, the Victorian Code of Behaviour commissioner, heard the report at the conclusion of the four-day match on Tuesday but decided White would not be reprimanded.
However, White was set to miss the forthcoming one-day match against South Australia at the Junction Oval, after being picked in the Australian squad for the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy, starting in New Zealand on Saturday.
David Hussey has been named captain of Victoria for the game and he will also lead them in their four-day match against New South Wales starting in Melbourne on December 6. "Not only is it a great honour to play for your state," Hussey said, "it's a huge honour to be given the opportunity to lead the Bushrangers in the ING and Pura Cup. I'm really looking forward to it."
NSW have also been forced to make changes for the match with Simon Katich, Michael Clarke, Nathan Bracken and Stuart Clark all unavailable because of the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy. Stuart MacGill, Greg Mail, Corey Richards and Aaron Bird have been named in their squad.
