Younis Khan will stay as wicketkeeper for Pakistan in their third match of the Paktel Cup, against Sri Lanka at Karachi on October 6. "Younis will keep wicket," Inzamam-ul-Haq told Reuters, "because Moin [Khan] has still not recovered from his illness."
Moin had gone down with flu before the one-dayer against Zimbabwe at Peshawar on Sunday. Younis took over the wicketkeeping duties and performed his role with aplomb. Not only did he keep for the entire Zimbabwe innings without conceding a bye, he also won the Man-of-the-Match award for his 77 off 86 balls. Bob Woolmer, the, Pakistan coach, has since proposed that Younis could become a more regular one-day wicketkeeper in the near future.
Inzamam, who missed that game due to a groin strain, will return to captain against Sri Lanka. Looking ahead to the match, he reckoned that Sri Lanka would be a lesser team without Muttiah Muralitharan. "He is a great and match-winning bowler, obviously they will miss him."
