Claire Taylor, the England batsman, was presented with her 100th ODI cap ahead of the third ODI against India in Taunton on Thursday by captain Charlotte Edwards.
Taylor becomes the 13th to play 100 women's ODIs, and the fourth from England after Edwards, Jane Smit and Clare Taylor. "I'm very excited at the prospect of playing 100 ODIs and joining a select group of world-class international players," she said. "Ultimately, though, it's just another game which we have to play well in to secure this NatWest Women's Series against India."
A prolific batsman, Taylor made her ODI debut against Australia in 1998 and has scored 3,202 runs at 38.12 with seven hundreds, making her the joint-highest century-maker in women's ODIs .
She also holds the distinction of being the highest ODI scorer at Lord's among both men and women. Her career-best knock of 156 not out off 151 balls against India in 2006 set a new record on the ground, going past Sir Viv Richards' unbeaten 138 against England in the 1979 World Cup final.
Taylor subsequently became the first female cricketer to feature on a hall of fame board at Lord's. Her record in Tests is equally impressive - 1008 runs in 14 Tests at an average of 43.82 - with her best of 177 coming against South Africa at Shenley in 2003.
