Mike Burns will take charge of Somerset until Jamie Cox returns from injury.

The Somerset skipper, who sustained his injury after colliding with a boundary board during the third day of the Bath Festival broke his left thumb and is likely to be sidelined for three weeks.

"'Burnsy' did a good job for us when Jamie went off the other day so he will be in charge with Rob Turner as vice captain," Shine revealed.

Mike Burns is no stranger to captaincy and took charge of the side during the successful pre-season tour to South Africa.
