TelstraClear Black Caps to play in Pakistan

New Zealand Cricket has confirmed that the TelstraClear Black Caps will play a five-match One-Day International series in Pakistan in November. The details of the itinerary have yet to be finalised.

NZC chief executive Martin Snedden said the Pakistan Cricket Board had requested an ODI series in place of the Test missed after last year's tour was abandoned following the Karachi bomb blast.

"As with any overseas tour the safety of players is our primary concern and, closer to the time, we will be working through a process to ensure that it is safe for the tour to go ahead.

"South Africa and Bangladesh are due to undertake full tours of Pakistan in September/October. This will useful to us as an opportunity to assess safety and security issues."

The TelstraClear Black Caps will travel to Pakistan immediately following the team's tour to India. The Indian section of the tour is likely to take place in October and early November this year.
