Sourav Ganguly has been fined his entire match fee for India's slow over-rate in the third one-dayer against Pakistan at Jamshedpur. India took 27 minutes more than the three-and-a-half hours alloted for a 50-over innings.
In addition to Ganguly's fine, the entire team was penalised 15% of their match fee. It was not the first time Ganguly had been pulled up for a slow over-rate. Late last year he was banned for two Tests, but the decision was overturned after a successful appeal.
The sapping heat and humidity have been cited as factors contributing to the slow rate, but in the previous games, where Pakistan bowled first, went by without incident.
